MONEGAL (Lope de Vega x Sublissime) took her earnings past $108,000 on Wednesday when she won a BM 72 3YO & Up Filllies and Mare Hcp over 1580m at Canterbury. It was her 4th win (she also has 4 placings) from 15 starts. Not a bad record for a thoroughbred that cost her trainer Theresa Bateup just $3,000 at the 2017 Inglis Yearling Sale. It goes to show – you don’t have to pay 7 figures for them to run fast.
